Usually really happy with Domoishi as it’s one of the better options for poke in Richmond. Unfortunately, the Tokyo chicken katsu rice bowl was very disappointing as it didn’t come with anything else beside the thin breaded cutlet and rice. Would’ve expected sauce or a little bit of veg or something else with it for $13…
The food here is very tasty. They have an extensive menu that will appeal to most people. You should try the boba. I got the boba and it was delicious. I would recommend getting the golden fruit tea boba with jelly fruit boba. The portions for food are huge so you might get enough to feed two or more people or save some for the next day. I would also suggest going with friends as it makes a great place to chill and dine.
A very solid poke bowl. Not cheap though - usually a ~$15 price tag, but the portions are generous. Last time I went in, though, the 20-something girl behind the counter looked at me and said "yes?" I answered, "I'd like to order some food..." She told me - I kid you not - "Uh, it would be easier for you to just use the kiosk." Even though there was no one else in the store but me waiting to order. So I did, reluctantly. But it didn't allow me to customize my order the way I wanted to -- the same protein 2x. As I was finishing my order, a 20-something guy walked in. Same girl jumps to take his order... while I am watching. Nothing else changed. I tried to raise this odd experience to Domoishi's management, but no one replied. Oh yeah, the kiosk actually wanted a healthy tip! So I asked it, wouldn't it be easier if I just gave the tip to the girl behind the counter? Like management, it didn't reply, so I didn't.
I got a poke bowl and it was not great. Had to return because he missed things on my order. The food did not take great I threw half away. Try everything once because this will be my first and LAST time going!
Great food and great crab rangoons
Domoishi provided several gallons of Boba tea for our school event, and it was a hit! Thank you for the delicious beverages. I will definitely come back!
This is not my first time at Domoishi - but my first at this location. Food was good but after initially choosing dine in and sitting down to eat, me and my young son ended up getting our food to go because of the music. Several songs had the “F” word in them, and the music was so loud my son asked to leave. Would recommend music be screened or edited for customers in the future.
