DENO wines are crafted from estate-grown fruit at Alto Pomar Vineyard and other local vineyards in the Paso Robles area, aiming to transform the best fruit into exceptional wines. Located in the eastside Templeton Hills at nearly 1400 feet elevation, Alto Pomar benefits from the Templeton Gap's winds and temperature variations. The vineyard's diverse soils include calcareous marls, shales, clays, and gravel. Farming the steep ridges with limited water results in low yields (2 tons/acre) of intense, well-balanced fruit. The grapes from Alto Pomar, primarily Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and a few others, are noted for their spice, brightness, and balanced maturity. The vineyard spans a small 3 acres.
