Had a birthday dinner for my girlfriend here. It was our first and last time here. Service was horrible and the steak came out over done and burnt. Had management come over just to argue with me that how they cook them chard. Well I wanted mine medium raw not over done and burnt. Girlfriend fillet was also not gone really chewy and funny taste. We watched others get good service and got specials read to them. We didn't get either not even our drinks refilled. I'm assuming it was the owner we talked to only took one steak off the bill even though we only each ate two bits from our steaks because they were so disgusting. I want to say thanks to dc steakhouse for ruining a dinner experience for my girlfriend. We ended up going to black Angus and got a way better dinner and service for half the price. This place needs to change or just close down
My husband and I went for dinner this past Friday and we had Paige as our server. SHE IS AMAZING! We had a wonderful rapport with her because she was attentive, friendly and even funny, joking around with us. The cocktails were outstanding, the sides were fabulous too...but our steak was awful! We typically get Wagyu filet when we go to a steakhouse but thought we would try something different and went with the Wagyu sirloin. HUGE mistake. We each took a bite and looked at each other. The manager happened to stop by and asked how everything was, we said great...neither of us knowing what the other was thinking about the steak as of yet. I thought I just had a bad bite so I had another...complete gristle. It wasn't terribly dark in the restaurant but it definitely was hard to see the details of the meat as I thought I just needed to cut some fat off around the edges. I ended up having 4 bites before I looked to my husband and we just quit. Agreed that all we were tasting was marbled fat and thought we were just used to filet so we made a mistake ordering this sirloin. We had it boxed up, thinking our daughter would still enjoy it as she typically devours our steak leftovers. LOL. So we just handed her the to go box when we got home and off she went to sit down. She came back after having a few bites and showed us saying, 'what the heck is this supposed to be?'. Needless to say you can tell from the picture...that is riddled with fat. Now I know how Wagyu beef is raised, how it's processed, prepared, etc. and this is NOT it. I'm hoping the restaurant simply didn't know this is what was being served. But it IS their responsibility to know! This is just a horrible piece of meat and should NOT be served to anyone.
The worst experience ever..do not come here ever
Overall a great experience. The food was delicious! We were very impressed with the sweet potato and thin fries. The top sirloin was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My only critique of the food would be that the bread was cold and butter was not spreadable. The tables are quite close together, so it’s not a very intimate feel while dining. We were also sat right next to the door so there was a lot of traffic around our table. Parking: I would recommend parking in the garage just behind the building for free! It’s about a block to walk and free.
I liked the place and the atmosphere was nice! We had a 7:45 pm reservation, sat down and are server seemed nice but she most definitely needs more practice or experience! After we ordered our drinks it took a while to get it. We didn't get bread and butter until I asked for it! We got the bread and butter with our appetizers. And the bread was cold and the butter was called you couldn't even spread the butter on the bread ( but the Brett was delicious) The calamari was a little too greasy. The drinks were very good. We got our entree at 9:20 p.m. I got the lamb chops asked for to be medium and it was raw in the middle after hour and a half waiting time!!
We made 745pm reservations. We were seated promptly. Our server was kind but not attentive, we had to ask for refills and bread. She did not come frequently to check in on our table of four. My SO ordered medium lamb chops and they were raw in the middle after finally being served an 1hour and 35 minutes after being seated. Needless to say we won’t be returning.
Wonderful evening out with friends. Great waiter and the food was excellent.
The food was okay for me but my significant other had the Tomahawk Steak and got really sick after eating it. We've had no desire to go back. The service was good and it appears to accept black people here we hope. #TEAMALWAYSAVERYWILLNOTBESILENCED
