I would give negative stars if i could. Worst experience ever!! We waited for 20 mins at the bar to submit an order and even then bartender was not ready to take our order. Finally i had to call the bartender and ask him to take our order. After we gave the order, the bartender did nothing, he was literally cleaning dishes for next 15 mins, finally when i asked for our drinks, he said he forgot our order and asked us to order again. Even at this point i let it slide, and ordered again, then he disappeared for next 10 mins and refused to do anything with our order. The most messed up part was that there was 4-5 people on the bar other than me and my friend.
This place has been going down on the quality of food and service. We ordered a rice bowl from the kids menu and they charged from the regular menu, it was $5 extra. They offer complimentary chai between 3 and 5 pm, but if you ask for it, they get just one cup with 2 parle-G for the whole table. It has happened twice. It was served cold. Once when I ordered takeaway, the tika masala tasted like it was made from Maggi tomato ketchup. The chicken 69 was made from stale/ hard chicken and was almost burnt. Even though I live in the neighborhood, I don't think I'm going there again anymore.
My first time trying an Indian Burrito and damn, SO MUCH FLAVOR! Actually, everything we tried at Curry Up Now was bursting with flavor! I highly recommend any of the burritos or bowls and definitely get the Bhel Puri for an appetizer because it was so refreshing. This place also came out with some Indian-Chinese dishes on the menu. The San Jose location has its own full bar called Mortar & Pestle attached and oooh-wee are the cocktails strong! * Samosas * Bhel Puri * Lamb Bowl * Lamb Burrito * Chili Chicken * Cocktails: Mango Sangria, Bangalore Old Fashioned, Inflight Smoker, The Mortar & Pestle, and Ambika's Grove
I did not eat inside the restaurant. i had it delivered. Vegetarian options: Good flavor and hefty quantities
Interesting place but I didn’t enjoy the food :( We had ordered Keema pav that had a strong gamey taste and in case of pavbhaji, bhaji was just full of spices without real taste and flavour.
We were passing by ,decided to stop in for a quick late lunch. Food was okay , not flavorful at all, only full with spices. Chai was bitter perhaps too much cardamom. I ordered Kathi roll (just the roll) ,over charged for combo which I didn’t get. $6 extra.-I noticed the overcharge afterwards. My biggest complaint is restaurant’s in general having hidden employee mandate fee with no notice on the menu or any signs -charge back on customer. It’s a no go for me. Over charged , service was slow . Food was flavorless. Not retuning!!
Generous 2 stars; don’t really know Kaathi Roll, street food style, barely worth the money. Made me wait 10 mins, although the food was sitting there all the time to be handed out. And the “rewards” don’t work. Order went though fine once I removed the discount!
