Delicious food in a nice quiet beer garden, and reasonably priced too.
Booked for Sunday dinner for an 80th Birthday party and was massively disappointed. While the pub itself is lovely, the food was massively overpriced for what was delivered - temperate chewy meat and potatoes which seemed re-heated; veg which only consisted of small bowls of cabbage passed off as 'seasonal greens' and missing items. Service was also very slow, and while the staff were pleasant, they were very obviously underexperienced and unorganized. Overall really disappointed and definitely wont be going back.
Entered with average expectations and we were still let down. Slow service, although we were a table of 7, receiving food 1h and 20 minutes after entering is slow. They'd run out of some food options. Hoping the food would compensate for the delay... it did not. Each steak had been cooked either too much or too little. The staff seemed okay, but really need better organisation and leadership.
Understaffed, lack of stock meant popular menu items weren't available. Big variation in the quality of food despite ordering the same dish - some dishes came out cold. Would not recommend given the price.
Lovely pub, but felt the food last night let them down. Steaks came out barely warm with French fries when menu said chunky chips, profiteroles were ice cream sandwiches.
Lovely evening with family
