Love this place. The food is so delicious!

Enjoyed a beautiful evening

Very disappointed- went to celebrate our anniversary. At the door we were greeted with a conversation between 2 workers as to what table to give us. When they took us to the table it was dirty and so we were told to wait while they cleaned it. He came back with a rag and two plates with cutlery. He tried to wipe the table but the cloth he was using was obviously dry so the table remained greasy (you could see it) so he put the clean plates down and went to get another cloth while we stood there. Hmm so unprofessional. When he returned he wiped parts of the table and we had to ask him to please wipe it entirely. He left us with dinner menus and said our server would be over with a drink list. We waited awhile before she dropped off the drink list - no introduction. Brought us water and we ordered a bottle of wine as well as an appetizer. Another sever brought the appetizer and they were not impressive. The garlic prawns were extremely small and tasteless although they were swimming in some sort of oil with a grilled lemon on the side. The bread had caraway seeds which I have an allergy to but they had no replacement. The beet salad had only red beets with minimal splash of olive oil. Ordered our mains - chicken schnitzel with pan fried potatoes and sauce (which you pay extra for). When our meal arrived 9 tables were empty but full of dirty dishes and glasses with no one rushing to clean them. Not impressive to eat among dirty tables. The food was 2/5 - chicken was cold, 4 slices of potatoe which really weren’t pan fried and the veggies were a small portion of shredded beets and carrots best part of the meal.By the time we were done the tables still remained dirty - absolutely no one making an effort to clean them. Awful site to try and eat staring at empty tables full of leftover food on plates etc. The music was extremely loud so that was not enjoyable to try and have a conversation. Bottom line we won’t be returning.

Great lunch specials!

Finally was able to take my wife to this restaurant after hearing about it for a long time. For her as a person with Celiac to have the freedom to order anything on the menu and not have to worry about the risk of cross-contamination was so wonderful. We both really enjoyed the food and you would never know that it is all made with special gluten-free ingredients, because it’s all so delicious! You can tell that time and care goes into the food, would definitely recommend! Dietary restrictions: The whole restaurant is certified gluten-free so if you have any kind of gluten allergy or intolerance this is a must-try for sure.

The decor and vibe are great; very much true to the European cuisine they serve. The food was also fantastic- and everything is gluten free! We had the duck, which was tender and succulent, along with the pork schnitzel. Each was perfectly prepared and complimented by its accompanying side. Most wonderful and memorable however was our fantastic server Tivona. She gave amazing service, reccomendations, and perfectly balanced giving us attention and space throughout our dining experience. Her friendly and welcoming demeanor will ensure we return in the future!

We had a great lunch here! Amazing food, would never guess it was gluten free. Great choices on the menu, delicious flavours and very good service. We felt comfortable, good atmosphere and fast service, dessert was also complimentary because we were celebrating a birthday which was a very nice surprise. Will definitely be coming again! My favorite restaurant in Edmonton. I just love all of their gluten-free options, everything is delicious the escargot is incredible, their liver dish is fantastic, their schnitzel is amazing, and I'd be remiss if I didn't comment on the dill pickle soup

Continental treat is truly a treat to the soul. The food is delicious and the service exceeds expectations.

We had a very disappointing dinner at the Jasper Ave location on Friday evening. I must say that the service was very good, the jazzy (live) music was fine, and the ambience comfortable, but the food was not what we have come to expect from Continental Treat. The positives were that the Continental Salad and the Pickle Soup were tasty. However the main courses were, well, not good at all. The Rouladin was over salted. The Chicken Schnitzel Strips were dry and leathery. The fries were much too salty. In the menu, the Schnitzel was to come with vegetables, however, there were none on the plate until I asked about them, and then they were brought on a separate plate. The desserts were okay but nothing special. One additional point to mention - for a restaurant that goes out of its way to provide gluten free food, it does a terrible job at providing dairy/milk free options, especially considering that many more people have sensitivities to dairy than to gluten. We have decided to go to the Whyte Avenue location soon to see whether the food has deteriorated there too, or was our experience specific to the Jasper Ave location.
