I'm not sure what to think because there are so many 5-star reviews, yet we did not have a good experience at all! We dined in and ordered chicken fried rice, Mongolian beef and shumai. Literally every dish was awful. The shumai was steamed far too long. It was completely rubbery. The Mongolian beef was tough and they didn't add the extra sauce most places provide. And lastly, the fried rice was so dry. I seriously think they forgot about the food and overcooked everything. This was literally the worse Chinese food we've EVER had in our entire life. Plus, there's a weird odor when you walk in, almost a sewer smell. My son said, "Do we have to eat here? It smells bad." I assumed there was something going on with the sewer line or something. Gordon Ramsey would rip this place to shreds! Needless to say, we won't be going back. The bad food coupled with the bad smell....NOT WORTH IT! And I was really looking forward to the shumai as it was something I enjoyed often while living in China for a number of years for work. Lastly, there's a huge privacy fence around the entire dining area, so there's absolutely no way to get the server's attention if you need something. So, we had to walk to the bar to ask for service 3 times because he wouldn't come back to the table. The entire experience was super disappointing! I can only assume many of the 5-star reviewed are fake.

Family owned Chinese knows how to make Happy Family General Taos chicken and decent mongolian beef. Atmosphere could be better change the music to something more calm. Good food we'll be back

I walked in to make a take out order and I showed them the text message from my kidsher wanted they wanted and said okay. I spent $50.00 for two dinners including a nice tip. When I got home my daughter dinner was not correct. I called them to advise of the mess up and they were going to drive drive me the correct order. A few minutes later I get a call back and they blame me for the mess up and not going to fix it. I advised them that I showed them the text message. How can mix up lemon chicken for chicken lo mein? They stated next time and I advised them that there is not going to be a next time.

We were craving Dim Sum but didn’t want to drive far, so we decided to check out Chef J Dim Sum & Chinese Bistro after seeing some positive reviews online. When we arrived, the nearly empty parking lot made us a bit skeptical about the restaurant's popularity. We noticed a cardboard sign by the entrance advertising the day’s specials, with “Js + landmade dim sum” catching our eye. The term “landmade” piqued our curiosity, so we decided to give it a try despite our initial hesitation. Inside, there was no one to greet us at first, but a sign instructed us to wait to be seated. After a few minutes, someone finally appeared and told us we could sit anywhere we liked. The interior had more of an American Chinese food vibe than the authentic experience we were hoping for. Despite the initial impressions, we explored the two available menus—one for lunch specials and the other for dim sum. We ordered J’s signature fried rice, Shumai, sticky rice, and pan-fried pork dumplings. While we expected the dim sum to take some time, the fried rice took a bit longer than anticipated. To add to our concern, a loud sneeze from the kitchen made us worry about the cleanliness of our food. Despite these initial doubts, we were pleasantly surprised. The signature fried rice was flavorful and generously packed with chicken, shrimp, and sweet corn. The dim sum that followed looked and tasted authentic, with each piece appearing handmade and uniquely shaped. So, the takeaway here: don’t judge a restaurant by its parking lot or cardboard sign. Chef J Dim Sum & Chinese Bistro may not have the most impressive exterior, but if you’re in the area and craving Dim Sum, it’s definitely worth a visit.

This was my first visit to Chef J’s, and it won’t be my last. I’m very fond of dim sum, so ordered as much as I could possibly eat. The classics like Har Gow and Shumai were spot on. The Shanghai Dumplings, Pot Stickers and hot and sour soup were excellent too. The cheung fun (shrimp rice noodle on the menu) was presented pretty messy to look at but still tasted great. With hot sake to wash down and great friendly service, I’d certainly recommend a visit. We’ll be back soon. Brilliant.

The food is always consistent. There was only one person working the entire floor. We had to wait quite a while to get drinks and put our food order in.

I was excited to eat here but left very disappointed in the quality of the food. The so called chef more than likely used canned vegetables. I could tell the noodles Came cold from the fridge. They did not even try warming the food in the microwave. I don’t know why it took 20 minutes when all the food taste like it just came out of the fridge. So I bought expensive left overs. i do not go to restaurants for yesterday's leftovers, especially when the food preparer calls themself a chef. today's lunch was such a disappointment. my food came to me cold and from the fridge. so if you like yesterday or 2 days ago leftovers, this is your place. i will never go back.

If I wanted frozen dumplings, I would have gone to the supermarket and bought a bag at a fraction of what Chef J charges.
