Chef Hung Noodle Express Brentwood

This used to be my regular haunt, and the beef noodle soup was authentic. The noodles boasted that perfect "QQ" texture (a Taiwanese term for chewiness), while the beef and soup delivered rich flavor. They always included pickled greens, the quintessential finishing touch that truly encapsulated the essence of Taiwanese beef noodle soup. However, on my recent visit, I was disappointed to find that they've replaced the pickled greens with Japanese-style pickled yellow daikon. It's not the same. Though seemingly a minor component, those pickled greens are essential, contributing to the dish's distinct Taiwanese identity. Regrettably, I won't be returning, unless they bring back the original pickled greens.

Service is surprisingly longer than usual for the beef noodles; order cold dishes if time is tight. Cold sesame chicken noodle: - sauce is more runny than usual so it doesn't coat noodles well to imbibe its flavour - noodle is al dente with a nice chew. - marinated egg is sub-par - don't be fooled by its colour; bland

Check the $amount before you pay! Got offered "special deal" "same price same price!" shows me the menu, points to an $8 single bowl, and then at the same bowl in a $17 combo. I paid without looking but after I got the order, sat down, checked the receipt, I was billed $17. When confronted she didn't hesitate to give a refund in cash. She took the food back from me but I'm not sure if she threw it away.

Ordered a beef shank and tendon noodle 1. Small amount of meat 2. Extra meat was a whooping $7.40 3. No green onion 4. No preserved vegetables 5. Tendon was too hard 6. Beef shank texture was plastic-like 7. No spicy peppers even upon request

The beef noodle tastes great and I love that they have a small combo option. For a very good price, I got a drink, an egg and a perfect amount of beef noodle.

牛肉麵…湯很重要，雖然是在food court ,不能將就用偏小的免洗餐具，碗太小根本喝不到幾口湯⋯服務員臉又臭，讓人沮喪的經驗，下次不會選擇這家，food court 還有很多其他更好的選擇！

I'm surprise on how low he rating is for this place. The beef noodle i got was good and the cold lemon tea drink.
