A Jewish pastry stuffed with a potato filling wrapped in flaky, buttery dough. Originating in Eastern Europe, the knish came to Argentina and America with the Ashkenazi Jewish immigrants who settled everywhere from small towns like Moises Ville in Agentina to
cities like Buenos Aires and New York around the turn of the 20th century. The inside is made of mashed Yukon Gold potatoes, onions, and herbs.
