Family dinner night with our grown kids. Appetizer: Blue Cheese Chips, A+ Truly crispy, well cooked chips smothered in bleu cheese sauce and crumbles. mmmmmmm-mmmmmmm Entrees: 1. Philly Steak Sandwich (x2), C- Verrrrry tasteless. Completely Under seasoned. However, for balance, the fries were completely overseasoned. Salty like Beyonce when upstaged... 2. Triple Decker Grilled Cheese, C- Traditional layer was congealed and the other 2 layers (Bacon and Egg), sadly were compromised, like a house, on stilts, in a mud swamp, during a tsunami... 3. Romano Crusted Chicken, B Difficult to mess up. The atmosphere, while bougey diner comfortable, was a true challenge to hear eachother across the booth. I do not recall that being such an issue the last time we came ( about a year ago). On the positive side (is it too late?) The service was very good.
Wide varying menu with many different types of food. You are likely to find something that will please a variety of people.
First time at this particular Cap City Diner but like the other location that I've been to service and food was great. Place was quite busy especially for a Monday night so we secured seats at the bar. Bartender although busy took great care of us, our food tasted great so did our beers and our carrot cake. Highly recommend this restaurant. BTW, I had balsamic chicken and my husband had French dip. Big portions, tasty....
Corey (server) was super, knew the menu so very well. Wanted to try everything on the menu, will be back!
This is a really nice place to go and relax and eat. The food is really good and a lot of choices. Whether you love meat, fish or are a vegan, they will take care of you!
Cap City is one of our favorite restaurants in Columbus. We have been to Grandview, Dublin, and Gahanna. All of them are great and we always enjoy our time at the bar. If someone is visiting the city, this is a good option of where to take them. If you can’t decide where to eat or don’t want to risk trying something new you might not like, don’t hesitate to eat here. We had a bad experience at a new restaurant and the day after we were not feeling adventurous, so we decided to go to Cap City and we got our joy back! We enjoyed a craft beer, nice Margarita and Café Martini, amazing chili and salad, and our favorite item in the menu: the meatloaf. My husband doesn’t like meatloaf, but he dies for Cap City meatloaf! We also ordered the Saturday special: Crab Cakes, and so far these are my favorite in Columbus! Everyday there is a special dish; we are committed to try all of them eventually. We highly recommend Cap City for brunch, lunch, dinner, or just drinks and appetizers. Everything we have tried is delicious. Enjoy! ✨
