Cantinetta Bellevue

Our go to place in Bellevue little restaurant but had the best staff/host very friendly had their burrata and past and of course dessert everything was perfect… perfect for dinner outing and prices are reasonable.

This is a clear 5 star experience. Having been a half dozen times, I have never had a bad experience (despite what some other reviews might say). Scott (the manager or owner?) goes out of his way to ensure his guests are enjoying themselves, even finding us a table last minute when we had accidentally booked in Wallingford instead of Bellevue. The bartenders are friendly and talkative, and pour solid, but not particularly creative, drinks. While dinner takes a while, this is an experience that you should savor, not rush through. We never feel neglected,but enjoy multiple courses brought out at appropriate times. The food has never been bland. Always local, fresh, and rotating, the menu is fantastic with each visit. I routinely get the gnocchi or gnudi, and have enjoyed every bite. We will continue to be enthusiastic supports of Cantinetta.

Came in very open-minded after all the positive reviews. After ordering some clams was super disappointed- no flavor, no seasoning, half of the clams were empty (shells only) and none of the remainders were on the bottom of the dish. The dish only includes the clams in watery tasteless broth. The bread was an additional $6. Then came the main dishes. I get that the pasta should be al dente. However, this pasta was just not cooked and was very(!) thick. It made it hard to chew. The sauce in the pasta was watery and again, tasteless. All I tasted were the overpowering crunchy and fresh peas and green onion. The drinks were awful. Diluted and barely had any taste. The service was simply bad. The staff were constantly trying to take our half full plates, after saying 4 times that I was still working on my dish the waitress took my leftovers as if I were finished. The waitress was disrespectful and just didn’t care at all. She was more about turning the tables rather than providing a nice service and experience to the existing customers at the table.
