We had to make a last minute stop due to our tire blowing on our way to Gaspe. We arrived after hours and were taken care of beautifully. The owner came out to open the gates and register us. It was not busy (May 26) and we were able to pull through on a grassy site without unhooking our 5th wheel and left early. It's close to the road so a wee bit noisy. We didn’t use any facilities or see much of the rest of the campground. Good stop close to Montreal!

The worst thing at this campground is the smell of urine. At first I could not think of why the place would have such a bad smell and then I seen there was more than one stray cat.— Wow! — Worst Campsite I’ve ever stayed at when it comes to a bad smell. Anyone who frequents/permanent campers, will be use to the smell and not notice. Just like every city has its own smell, so do campgrounds. Not sure if its the regular campers that have cats or if they come from the surrounding village, but you really should handle that problem. It’s also the first time I ever had to pay for showers at any campground and I have travelled four provinces in Canada and into the USA. If we are paying for the showers the machine to put a quarter in should be more conveniently located by the shower and not over the shelf we put dry belongs on, and across the cubicle from the shower. So one has to get out of the shower to put another quarter in (Not very clever). One quarter is 5 mins. If we have to pay for a shower 0.50 cents for 10 mins would have been wiser and instructions in French and “English” would have been helpful. The little river going through the campground was dirty, misty, foggy and floating food also went by—seems very dirty as well. Washrooms and Campsites themselves were clean. Campsite adorned with a very nice picnic table. I was there with my son and we stayed one night in a tent. The location was convenient along our travels, however loud from traffic. There is no free wifi and had to pay for internet—which did not work at campsites. Had to go to the main office for working internet. The most bothersome to me was the smell! I will never return to this campsite especially since there are stray cats. Domestic animals should be leashed and can cause damage to property. The urine and spray of cats is very difficult to remove from personal property, sometimes impossible. I also did not feel comfortable with camera’s IN the bathrooms, and did not notice until I was leaving. So when my shower was not working, I stepped out to the shower beside me to see if I could get that one working. I am not comfortable knowing my naked butt could be on camera!! Cameras should be outside the washroom!!! Camera’s in a bathroom? Who does that?? Customer service was fair and since this campground is so close to the border of Ontario, I feel everything should be in French and English including the Restaurant Menu—I will never visit this campground again. If you must stay in Quebec for a night or more I highly recommend Rivière-du-Loup and stay in a motel.

I can’t say enough good things about the staff in the office. Lynne and her sidekick Linè (spelling?) were both extremely helpful, friendly, and made our 3 day stay much easier. They made us feel welcome. Much of the park is seasonal, but the transient sites are accessible and level. It’s a good 30 minutes from Montreal, and there is some highway noise, but I would happily stay again.
