Cafe Grange

A gem of a basic cafe in Grange. Clean and bright with indoor and outdoor seating, and really nice for walkers and cyclists and people arriving in Grange by train. It's just around the corner from the better known Hazelmere cafe, but definitely worth seeking out if you're looking for good, straightforward, light meals and cakes and hot drinks.

Every now and then you find a hidden gem and this was one of them my wife and I were driving in Cumbria and pulled over for a cup of tea got a pot of tea each and a bacon bun, glad we did proper cuppa and the quality of the bacon bun was top notch made with top quality bacon cooked perfectly. The two lads that own this place could show others how it's done friendly chatty and a lot of local knowledge. We ended up buying the sausage rolls, rolo chocolate brownies and cherry scones all of which looked delicious can't wait to get home and eat them. Would I call back most definitely.

Under new ownership so there is WiFi now, which is great as reception is terrible in Grange. Larger range of food. Open Friday to Tuesday. I had a muffin which was a bit dry.

We have just found this gem of a coffee shop, the owners were lovely, myself & my husband had toasted teacake, crumpets with cheese, bakewell tart, scrumptious hot choc with cream, marshmallows & flake, plus the cake of the day the most delicious Victoria sponge cake I've ever tasted, will definitely return

We recently visited. The food was very medioca. We sat outside and when my husband got up he caught his foot in the edge of the flag overbalancing and landing heavily on his shoulder. Two Clients were good enough to come to our assistance which was a good job as the owner never came near. She didn’t ask us if he wanted a cup of tea or water or how he was. We eventually got my husband into the car and I drove him to Kendal hospital to be told he had broken his arm at the top. I phoned the cafe to give them an update even though she hadn’t shown any interest but thought she would have to fill out a health and safety report and report to Riddor. The owner didn’t answer her phone so I left my telephone number for her to call me back. She didn’t even have the decency to call back. The motto is if you want to go to a cafe with medioca food and drink and an owner who doesn’t care about their customers then your in the right place. Parking: Small amount of on street parking but paid parking available opposite.
