Melody Lounge was located at 51st and Haverford Avenue. It was an integral part of my family's social life. At one point, my mother was a barmaid there. My family celebrated there. I could even cash a check there.This drink is dedicated to Uncle Bump. Writing "numbers" was his side hustle. Melody Lounge was his office.

This drink is dedicated to my Mother. She owned ZBE's Beauty Supply Store in the 1990s. Located on 50th and Brown, it was open for five years. She also had a home Salon throughout the 1970s. We started several businesses together.

Brewed Coffee: Add any two flavors and whip cream.This drink is dedicated to my cousin Jack. He was an international award-winning celebrity hairstylist. He had two successful salons in New York City in the 80s and 90s.

Cafe au laitThis drink is dedicated to Mr. Black's Tailor Shop. The Blacks' two businesses resided in the same building at 50th and Brown from the 50s until the mid-70s. The Blacks were an inspiration to many entrepreneurs in the neighborhood and a fine example of black excellence.

This is a caramel macchiato with whip cream:"Cuz" owned the penny candy store at 50th and Brown Street. It was in the basement of the first house from the corner. After he closed in the mid-seventies, we started to go to Ms. Tuck's corner store, on Ogden street, between 50th and 51st. This sweet specialty drink is dedicated to Cuz and Ms. Tuck.

Everyone in Southwest knows Fred’s Water Ice and its founder and owner Fred Cooper. He established his business here in 1988 as a retail and wholesale water ice supplier at 5343 Chester Avenue. We are happy to have his refreshing water ice here at Brown Street Cafe.
