After reserving areas and them being confirmed with the venue , them knowing our group size and purpose of our visit, we were refused entry by a bouncer at the door who verbally asulted us and the claiming that why he wouldn't let us in was because we didn't respersent the community , complete discrimination and disgusting behaviour

Best Gay Bar in Belfast! The only place that is fully inclusive and customers are made to feel like family. Amazing staff and doorstaff!

I was here last night with some friends. Queue for the bar was horrendous but drinks reasonably priced. We had a good night overall, however our treatment by the bouncers upon leaving put a real dampener on the night. We left at around 2am. We were walking down the stairs to exit, and the bouncer was on the stairs towards the bottom with a young woman - another patron of the club. 2 of my friends went ahead and squeezed past the bouncer and the woman. I hung back to allow the bouncer to stand aside to let me past. He moved so I continued to walk down the stairs, with another 2 friends behind me. As I was passing the bouncer, he took it upon himself, unprovoked, to shove me down the stairs. If I had been drunk or wearing heels, I could’ve easily lost my balance or become injured. Him shoving me was entirely unwarranted and was frightening - I am a 24 year old woman calmly leaving to go home. A few minutes after this, a friend and I returned to politely ask the bouncer why he thought his actions were justified. He initially said he had to do it to prevent an incident from occurring (I assume with regards to the female patron he was with). This did not justify his actions in the slightest. The other bouncer then chimed in and they both denied it happened at all. No apology was offered. If I’m going out, I expect bouncers to help keep me safe, not to randomly push me down the stairs as they see fit. They abuse their power and they should not be allowed to do so. I will not be rushing back to boom box following this experience.

Honestly will not be back near this place!. Elaine the bouncer is on a major power trip!. If you're not in a click or licking up her back end she will profile you, claim you're drunk when you're not!. She is seriously bad for business down there!. Other door staff are good but she is the bad egg out of the lot!. Claimed my partner was half way to drunk when he only had a pint of Guinness in maverick before we decided to head up stairs for her to inform us that he is half way drunk and she will be keeping an eye on him, put a real downer on our night when it was only starting yet there was people falling over themselves because they where so drunk but i guess when she decides to take a dislike to you everyone else doesnt exist!. We work too hard for our money to spend it in this place so we will definitely not be back until she is gone she is a bully!!.

I'm a Black guy from London, and was on my first visit to Belfast. We had just left the Maverick, the Gay bar under the Boom box. I was with 3 white friends and walked around the corner to go into the club ahead of my friends and noticed the female bouncer looking at me in away that was obvious she had a issue with my dark skin ! She refused me entry claiming I was unsteady on my feet, although she had let 3 white guys in before me, when one of the guys had stumbled right in front of her.

Bouncers extremely rude, inexperienced and down right creepy! This is meant to be a gay bar yet half the people in it seem to be straight. Won’t be back
