I was super excited for this new place but the only positive is the great customer service. I get that they are trying to make their bowls “unique” by trying to incorporate different tastes and ingredients but I’ve never ate a meal that tasted so off. Their proteins are all Asian flavored but their veggies have strong herby Italian flavors, and the toppings don’t necessarily match either. It really felt like I was eating two different cuisines at once. The chicken didn’t seem well cooked, the sweet potato noodles were a bit soggy, and their sauces are all over the place yet they don’t offer a teriyaki or miso type sauce for a bowl that is more Asian flavored. Even their spicy sauces are very bland. If they just stuck with a teriyaki bowl type restaurant, it would still do better compared to what they currently offer.
The portions are big so the price is justifiable especially for the area, but in the regular bowl which is nearly $15 you can only choose 1 veggie and even though you can choose multiple toppings, most of them are not free and cost $1+ extra like tomatoes, which is a bit ridiculous. Even in the large bowl which is nearly $20, there’s only 2 veggies. For the protein, anything other than chicken and tofu like salmon is an extra $3-4 which is crazy. Even if you try to do a kid’s bowl, it comes with no veggies, toppings, or sauce which is unheard of. They do have preset signature bowls but their prices are not listed on their website for a reason. You can tell the management was very stingy when developing this place.
This place is just what Brokaw Plaza was missing. Atmosphere is nice and the service was friendly. We ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl with the recommended Creamy Garlic sauce (no dairy milk) and Spicy Thai Shrimp Bowl with Sweet Chili Mayo. The bowls hit the spot, cannot recommend enough! Healthy and delicious.
Delicious food, great staff, cute decor. Will be coming back to try more options and sauces!
I just ate at Boltiful Fresh Kitchen, a new fast food spot in the North Valley San Jose area, and I was really impressed! The place is super clean and spacious, seating both inside and outside. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. From the moment I opened the door we were greeted with a smile and hi! Boltiful Fresh Kitchen uses a similar build-your-own-bowl concept, like Panda Express and Chipotle. You start with choosing a base, select your veggies and then protein, finally top it all off with a sauce. I recommend getting and then mixing the creamy garlic sauce with a little bit of the house Boltiful spicy sauce – it’s a great combination that you can adjust to your taste. Hands down the food itself is delicious. I tried the tofu and mushrooms – perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. All in all, Boltiful Fresh Kitchen is a great addition to the fast food scene. If you enjoy customizable meals and friendly service, definitely give this place a try!
Went here twice after spotting this place while in the area, tried the signature Miso Glazed Salmon Bowl and Teriyaki Chicken bowls which were pretty good. The food options seem pretty healthy for anyone in the area wanting a good meal, especially after a workout. Prices seem reasonable compared to similar style food places in the bay.
If I can give negative, I would ! But for this one star is for the cleanliness of the dining area - Food quality and taste is worst! If you add beef or salmon is +4!?? What heck! The bowl is already expensive.
I will NEVER recommend and go back to this restaurant who rob people’s hard earned money .
New place so I thought I would try it out. They have limited food choices. I tried the noodle, salad, mushrooms, and teriyaki chicken with the garlic sauce combo. The noodle was mushy, mushrooms were dried out, chicken was mediocre, salad was basic, and the sauce was okay. I was looking at the shrimps and salmon, and beef options, there were additional charges for them. The server was nice to provide me with sample of the shrimps. I do not think it worth extra $4. I saw the tomatoes garnish and wanted it, but of course it is another $1 extra. I got the most basic bowl and it came out to $16 with taxes. I ate 1/3 of it and gave up on it. It was not great for me. I think for $16 I can eat somewhere else that more satisfying. I don’t think I would come back. The place is clean since it is brand opening. The server was nice and helpful to explain to me of the choices. Other people may have better experiences and like food more than me.
Clean and fresh build-your-own-bowl experience, with a variety of options. You can ask for samples too! Price point is right for the Bay Area; expensive if compared to fast food places, but what you get here is not fast food: it's good food, quickly.
