Tonight was the first time to the blue door. Actually it's the first time I have been on the square in Gainesville for more than a walk around the square once when I first moved here a while ago. My husband bought tickets to the comedy show for tonight. I had never heard of the blue door and when I started looking up the reviews I was a little nervous because it was mostly 1 star or 5 stars so I was a little worried. I don't like new places or new people and I like to do my research before showing up somewhere new. The club itself was decent. It looks like a clean place for people to go have fun and hangout. We didn't stay for the club dancing since we are between 44-60 and probably not our scene anymore but it felt decent enough if my young adult (mine are 22-26) kid wanted to go for a night I would feel comfortable letting them. You do have to be 21 to get in. Anyhow, the comedy show was good. I was only prepared for an act maybe two but there were 4. They were all very good. I would recommend it to anyone who asked my opinion. The crowd was pretty diverse in age and race. The drinks were good as well. We didn't eat food but I would say it was a very good night.

10 out of 10 experience! Last night I went to blue door for the first time to celebrate my fiancé Gracie’s birthday! We were welcomed by the bar staff almost immediately, Lucas was extremely attentive and made sure our night started off right! Shortly after arrival the owner Tony came around and personally wished my fiancé a happy birthday and really made us feel special. When I say 10 out of 10 I mean it. Honestly one of the best nights we’ve had in a long time! If you looking for a fun night on the square stop looking and head to blue door! Tony you’re the man! Much love and respect! Parking: There are 2 free parking garages walking distance from the square, you can aslo leave your vehicle overnight with no issues!

Always love it here. The bartender at the Hopscotch bar is amazing. The playlist is awesome, I love the inclusion of some metal. The breakfast sandwich was delicious and way better than waiting at Waffle House afterwards.

I enjoyed going to the blue door with my friends. I've always had a good time. But on Friday of last week. I was told by security that I can't be inside the blue door without buying a drink. I've already paid my way in, bought my friends and myself a drink. Now after being told that it is blue doors policy that I have to buy a drink, is a flag out lie and a tactic to harass those who are having a good time. This is unacceptable. I could say it was only because of my skin color, I could also say it's because security can't get any women so they are made at those who do. I don't have a problem with getting drunk lol but to tell me I have to and attempt to demand me to do something that I don't want to do is outrageous. You can guarantee me and all of my friends who make up majority of the blue doors customers will not return to the blue door. It's very pathetic that we live in a time. Where Caucasian males think their positions are supposed to make us afraid. I paid to get it and I expect to be treated as a paying customer especially if I'm on the dance floor encouraging others to dance and have a good time. Without me and JD the blue door will never be a vibe. ‍♂️.

It was the first time in a while me and the wife had been able to get out without the kids. We like to frequent comedy clubs, so we looked for something local. We bought tickets online for two of us It was $50. We arrived at the venue to find that seating was very limited. We ended up standing the whole time. There was not one seat to sit in . Drinks were fair priced. The bartenders and servers were great. The comics were also good. But the manager Tony was a complete jerk. He was very rude to us and almost seemed to talk down to us. It made me and my wife extremely uncomfortable. It was obvious by his demeanor and body language that he thought a lot of himself and not his customers . If I would of known it was standing room only and I had to deal with Tony instead of a professional I would of saved my money. Honestly a waste of a good opportunity at a night out with my wife , which are few and far between with kids. With the economy the way it is and money hard to come by these days, support the people that are professional and provide a good service. Don’t waste your money on the “Tony’s” of the world. I’ll never go back,

A short story: Two years ago, I went to 37 Main when their Gainesville location was open. The vibe was very inhospitable. The same when The Stag was still Chopblock and their club existed. I said ‘hello’ to a guy and he told me to “back the F up”. BlueDoor is worlds apart! The drinks are good at a reasonable price. The feel is far more welcoming! They don’t serve food late at night but most people only come out to drink, so no love lost.

The best kept secret on the Gainesville Square. Parties ✔️. Great prices ✔️. Open late ✔️. Literally having created a standup comedy room that features headlining famous comics and the best comics from Atlanta and all over the country ✔️ ✔️..

Great comedy night and most entertaining one star reviews, possibly written by actual clowns. Everyone treated like family.
