Black Rose Cafe & Bar

I just ate here today with my family, and although the food was great, the drinks were atrocious. We ordered margaritas, and half an hour later, they told us they were missing an ingredient. Another 10 minutes later, they brought us “margaritas” but they tasted like it was made Jarritos and not sour mix. They obviously had sour mix because two other drinks had sour mix but for some reason, the margaritas did not. Something was up with the bar tender as she had a horrible attitude and the drinks were just bad. It’s not like the place was busy or anything, it was dead. I previously ate here and the experience was better, but based on today’s service and drinks, I won’t be returning. When we left I wasn’t surprised there was no one in there downtown on a Friday night.

My husband and I went for breakfast it was our first time there and everything when I say everything I mean everything was great! My food was delicious the portions were fine , the music was so nice and appropriate and the service was good! I enjoyed my morning and I know my husband did too. I definitely recommend, give it a chance!

We had a wonderful first experience at this newest version of the Black Rose Cafe. Now a Mexican style bistro and coffee shop. They offer coffee, smoothies, various baked goods, breakfast and dinner options. We had the taco salad, quesadilla, sope, chocolate tres Leche, chocoflan, and churro cheesecake. Everything was great, we were very pleasantly surprised by the chocoflan. The staff was kind, attentive, and answered all of our questions.

I had already eaten breakfast at home. Had a Strawberry mimosa while my friend ate. Drink was excellent! Staff was very courteous!

Incredible spot we stumbled upon in Locust Grove. So glad we did! Service was amazing and the coffee and food was even better! We will definitely be going back.

Went there on a Saturday night. Not busy at all. Tried the sope—it was so good, especially for $5. Taco Salad was good, too. Chai latte was just ok. The menu items(except for the sope) seemed very expensive for the ambiance.

While the place looks fantastic, the service and the food is lacking. We originally stood around for 5 minutes without being greeted, multiple different employees walked past us and didn’t say anything. We finally walked up to the pick up counter and just asked if we could seat ourselves. After we sat down, we waited 20 minutes just to get physical menus and the server walked away without asking for our drinks or if we were ready to order. After another 10 minutes, she finally came back and got our drink order before walking away again before we could order our food. It took 10 more minutes for the drinks and then she finally took our food order. The food came out in a timely manner and was okay, but not the best. Our server didn’t check on us at all until the very end and I had to get up and go to the counter to pay. I would not recommend this place just because of the service.
