My wife + I went here for one of our monthly date nights where we try a new restaurant. I book us + my parents separate reservations to have intentional date nights to try new places every month. When my wife + I went, it was Valentine's Day. Service + food were TOP NOTCH. The steaks here are unmatched - one of the best I have ever had in my life. The sides are pretty mid...you can tell they are not the selling points of the dishes, but they definitely are when it comes to price point! Sides are a huge portion, so they are great to split - though I believe each entree came with two. Prices are reasonable compared to other places that make you pay for sides a la carte. The money is where the steaks are at. They know that and there is a reason why they are known FOR that too. Our service was stellar that night; however, my parents didn't go on a "holiday." They were not met with the same speedy service and were neglected the first 30 or so minutes of their date - even to get water. When my mom encouraged my dad to finally say something, the waitress was highly apologetic and quick to provide a solution to make it right. They were given a choice of their own free apps and they were very happy after. My mom agreed that B 'n B served one of the best steaks that she has ever had! My pops loved the frog leg app! In the end, it was a successful date night for them too. Surprised it took me this long to find this place. We will DEFINITELY be back here!
Waitress was super friendly and helpful
Absolutely delicious food and great service from Victor! We will be going back!
Super wonderful place! Went here with a co worker and we each had the King cut prime rib. Wow! Just wow! So delicious! And the sauteed mushrooms were so good, as was the salad also. Jerome was our server and he was absolutely the best ever!
Had reservations for 5 adults and 2 children, we were seated at a very small table that made it almost impossible to eat at. Everyone except me went for prime rib, which I don't eat. Needless to say they were out of prime rib on a Saturday night. My medium well steak was under cooked and cost me 50 dollars. No bread plate just crackers. Server struggled trying to get all the meal plates on the small table. I will not go back.
I don't know what's considered fine dining in Charlotte. This was recommended online and even by the hotel clerk. I liked the old interior and the staff was very kind and even added a free side to our meal. My red flag should have been the cheese and crackers instead of bread for the table that tasted like the cheese paste you get as kids. Nostalgic but not what I had in mind. The cocktails were decent. The sides were all mediocre, salad was alright. The steak was a slight bump up from a longhorn steakhouse house, but you're paying a premium. If I had paid $40 a person instead of $75 for the quality that we had it would be a very different review. If this is people have without driving to another city and they are particular about their environment, then maybe it's worth the premium. Just wasn't worth it to me. P.s. music, environment, and staff kept this from being 2*
Outstanding food and service, historic venue with long-term ties to the community, cozy nostalgic unpretentious atmosphere, great place to go on special occasions or date night. I really enjoyed the fillet and the red potato garlic mashed potatoes, but everything was excellent. Recommend making reservations. Parking: Large, easy to access parking lot behind the building, but the parking can still be a little limited during peak times.
