It’s not like me to do this. But last night April 2 2024 I went to Ayesha to open my iftaar. I arrived to the restaurant and asked to sit down. I indicated im a solo person and the iftaar had started. I asked for a single chair and table and pointed out there are many tables being occupied with only two persons but have room for four or more. The owner of the restaurant said I would have to ask the other patrons if I can sit next to them. He didn’t even try to accommodate me to have a seat. Fortunately one of his employees a young lady tried to accommodate me ut the owner interrupted again and said I would have to ask the guests. I was very surprised at how unwilling or how unhelpful this man was to accommodate me for iftaar. I finally asked if it’s a problem can we seperate the tables and he said no. I was surprised that he wouldn’t even seperate the tables given there was clearly extra space. None the less I left the restaurant without opening my fast and clearly the owner didn’t care. I’d advise single patrons to not go to Thai restaurant their priority is to seat big groups.

Yummy Iftar buffet but bring your own knives. Patrons have no choice but to separate the meat on their plate with a fork and spoon! What an exciting experience..not. When I asked for a knife, the server said, “knives are for white people food so we don’t have any”. I was shocked and appalled. Food was so tasty but a little low on the salt. Next time I will bring my own knife and Celtic salt.lol Lighting. Kyle be dimmer and more ethnic decor is lacking.

It was the first time I had the chance of utilizing Ayesha's Kitchen's services for a family gathering, and probably my last. The reason: their total miscommunication. They won't tell you this at the time of the booking, but it is probably the only place in Edmonton that charges you per head for the number of people you reserved, instead of the number of people that actually turn up. Also, it was surprising for us to know that they carge full for children above 6 years (despite the fact that they hardly eat anything), yet we nonetheless agreed to it, as its their business, and their rules. So, at the time of booking, we booked for 46 adults, 13 children 6+ of age, and 13 babies requiring high-chairs (we over estimated, so that we don't run into a surprise of not enough chairs at the time of the event). In fact, even at the booking time, we were told that our guests would be counted at the day of the party, and the final numbers and cost would then be generated. On the actual day, because of COVID, only 38 adults could turn up, with 9 children less than 6 years of age and 8 babies requiring high-chairs. However, to our astonishment, we were slapped with a bill for 50 adults and 10 children less than 6. The reason? They told us that they charged a flat rate for 50 guests when booking the entire hall, no matter how many turned up (it was the first time we came to know about this rule of theirs, also the first time I realized it was possible to pay "per-head" for people not even coming), and that "its the rule EVERYONE in Edmonton. Also, they told us it was OUR loss that our guests couldn't join for being sick, and not their concern. Finally, they don't even bother giving food for the guests you pay for "per head", but don't come. Altough I do understand that we were utilizing space when they booked the entire hall for us, we would have appreciated had they communicated it to us, so we would have made necessary arrangements or not taken their services altogether when we ran short of 50 people by 8 guests. I would gladly have paid for 50 adults or some fee for booking their entire hall, if they had informed me of their rule beforehand or had some sort of policy in place. In fact, I later came to know that in another instance, they also charged for all 4 people (husband, wife and 2 parents) per booking (people I personally know), despite both the parents not able to come due to falling sick. To be honest, I had no trouble with the quality or quantity of food, but I would have had similar services at another place costing me less, and served with honest customer service. In short, not only was this my last time having business with them, none of my social circle members would now even think of utilizing their services, because of their miscommunication, lack of consideration for the guests' mishaps, and a total absence of customer service
