Food & drinks: Good selection of modern pub classics. Plenty on the plate. Served promptly and well presented. Good value too.

My experience wasn't what I was expecting, after hearing how good the food is at this place I was totally disappointed. I had the beef stew and dumplings, stew tasted like tinned meat and the dumplings were just balls of solid stodge, my partner had lamb chops which were tough and we both opted for the bread and butter pudding for dessert, what a let down that was, white soggy bread, don't think it saw the inside of an oven, I was expecting it to be golden brown and crispy on the outside, not so, looked like it had been prepared and then put in a microwave to warm it up, it was totally white and tasteless. Not sure if the chef was having a bad day but chef needs to up the game, it was very poor quality overall, and overpriced for the quality that it was. Not in a hurry to repeat this experience.

Cracking traditional pub, good food and beer selection

I've been many times and will probably continue to do so. The food is excellent and generous, and the landlord has been there for 40 years, so that speaks volumes. I have never stayed in any of the rooms, so l can't comment on this part.

Excellent stop either going out of or into Norfolk Cheerful efficient service. Great selection of beers. Very good food.
