Agricola Street Brasserie

I so wanted to love this place and came with the expectation of a great meal and a great restaurant but was terribly let down Salt… all night every dish had waaaay to much salt, started with the crustinis to my spouses french onion soup, and then his fries. Way to much salt so much so we dint feel to great afterwards I was excited for the beef Wellington to be let down on the pastry being mushy, and the beef just being a touch too rare another minute and it would have been great. The mashed potatoes with it, felt like a mom n pop dinner mashed potatoes, no excitement and bland. The sauce was great. The full throttle drink tastes way of to much smoke, like drinking charcoal. The atmosphere was beautiful but the music to loud, we could barely hear each other. All in all very disappointed with our Valentine’s Day dinner out, and for the expense, honestly it felt like throwing money in the wind.

Solo here and call Happy hour. I had a reservation through OpenTable and I will see that fairly promptly. My server was extremely helpful and made sure that I knew about the happy hour drinks menu. I had one of the cocktails which was fantastic, and I had two appetizers. The steak tartare lacked a little bit of taste, however the meat texture was excellent. The caramelized shallot and pear tarte was phenomenal. Pastry was perfectly done and sweetness and tartness balance was perfect. Vibe and energy was good. There was also live music which was a treat! Worth the visit.

Récemment, lors de mon séjour à Halifax, j'ai choisi de dîner à Agricola après avoir minutieusement examiné d'autres options. En tant que végétarien, la possibilité de déguster des plats à base de plantes, comme indiqué sur le menu, a été le facteur déterminant qui m'a incité à tenter l'expérience. Le plat qui m'a été servi a largement dépassé mes attentes, au point que je dirais probablement avoir savouré le meilleur plat du restaurant. Si je devais donner un conseil au restaurant, ce serait de mettre en avant de manière plus affirmée leurs plats végétariens, dont ils peuvent légitimement être fiers. Cela devrait être encouragé, surtout dans le contexte actuel où il est important de réduire notre consommation de produits d'origine animale de manière significative. L'ambiance était agréable, et le service s'est avéré excellent. Je recommande vivement le restaurant, en particulier l'option végétarienne, même pour ceux qui ne le sont pas. Le prix est également relativement acceptable. Vegetarian options: Le restaurant propose la préparation d'un plat à base de plantes, du moins, végétarien, sur demande. Cependant, les options végétariennes pour les plats principaux ne sont pas clairement indiquées. Je suggérerais donc au restaurant de mettre en évidence ces choix sur le menu. Malgré cela, l'option que j'ai choisie s'est révélée excellente, et ma satisfaction a été au rendez-vous. Parking: Parking gratuit selon un créneau horaire spécifique. La plupart des stationnements sont dans la rue, mais c'est la réalité d'une ville.

Super friendly waitress who knew the menu well and helped with all of the questions we asked about it. Cozy atmosphere. Great food

So it was a hard choice whether to give this a 2/3/4 star. last night my family and I went to this establishment for dinner to celebrate an event. the atmosphere and the decor phenomenal. The service was pretty good the first server, pleasant, respectful, amazing. the second server i couldn’t tell if we were inconveniencing them or not. Very ‘as expression goes woke’ which I appreciate it but didn’t need.. but this age they have to be very respectful of everything. but it felt like we were inconveniencing her. We get to the food so I got the brasserie burger as far as flavour I would definitely give it an 8/10 as far as presentation 7-8/10 as far as functionality 4/10..it is the sloppiest to the point of disgusting burger to eat. The bottom bun was so soaked in the sauce and the juice of the meat that when you try to hold it, your fingers went right through the bun and it was a disgusting mess , it is to the point that you have to eat it with the fork and knife. It is that sloppy they could rectify this simply by toasting the bottom button that’s giving it a capability to withstand all that saturation. The other meals of our dinner, party the steak and not bad way too much meat sauce. The french fries were soaked aïoli sauce was very nice but very pungently lemon garlic.

The weather was rainy. So nice and cosy. I ate too much because the pasta was SO good. The service was perfect timing and the waiter was great. I will be back for sure. :)
