This is in contention with the fanciest place that I've ever had dinner. I had the steak and mashed potatoes, both of which were the best that I've ever had. I added a succulent bone marrow butter that I still think about from time to time. The service is top notch as you would expect. If you are driving you have to valet park. Be prepared for that. Also, plan to spend money. It was the most expensive ticket that I've ever had.
Service at the bar was quite slow. Understaffed, resulting in the staff being a bit edgy. The steak was outstanding and made up for the service.
Had dinner here as a guest of a family member. Noticed the complete lack of any dress code. Always a giveaway. Provided menu without pricing. Very gallant and generous of my host & hostess. Ordered small filet au poivre. When it arrived, it lacked the pepper. Maybe the cook forgot. The meat seemed stringy and not easily cut. Served with was called a butter/garlic sauce. Not appropriate at all. Just melted butter with a few pieces of chopped garlic. Easy and cheap to prepare. Not like a sauce bearnaise. Later I determined the price of my meal. It was exhorbitant and certainly not worth the investment in money, time and experience. All in all, a nothing atmosphere with mediocre food, adequate service, stratospheric pricing and a pretentious menu. I can only recommend this restaurant to wannabees. As it's only perceived value is as a place to be seen overspending for food.
