Staff is brilliant and helpful. I ordered sausage sandwich and a cake. Food is fresh tasty.

196 Coffee Lounge you were fabulous, looks fab from the outside and just as fab on the inside, very very clean, Great decor!! Our friends had told us about 196 and they were exactly right. The staff were all very nice and couldn’t do enough for us, all very friendly. GORGEOUS Coffee and the cakes were out of this world. My husband had a scone with butter, jam and cream which he said was absolutely beautiful! I’m more of a cake girl the bigger the slice with lots of buttercream the better, so I had a big slab of the double chocolate, It was so moist and the buttercream was delicious! My mother in law had Biscof cheesecake and she was highly delighted. We will definatley be back on our next visit in a few months time Thankyou ❤️

What a lovely little find, absolutely spotless, delicious cakes and treats, and some of the best coffee I have ever had. Keep up the good work, we will definitely be returning.

Called into this cafe while visiting Matlock. The service was warm and welcoming. The tea and cakes were divine. Would recommend ☺️

Called in here on my way walking from Matlock , staff was really friendly had a well earned coffee before setting off to cromford . Americano was perfect thanks

11/10 This place is truly lovely. Absolutely everything on the menu is beautiful, both sweet and savoury food is absolutely gorgeous and the service is fantastic. It has such a cute and welcoming vibe and I love coming here, I would come to Matlock just for their fresh treats that are made daily, they are some of the best deserts I have ever had. Cannot recommend this place

Went in yesterday for a coffee which was really nice. We walked past several other cafes before stopping at this one as it looked nice and inviting. Friendly staff and another bonus was very clean toilets which always makes a difference to what you think about a place. Will be back to try the food.

Worse cafe I've been to . Service was very slow I complained to the owner he was very rude . AVOID

A must if your in the are friendly staff tasty homemade cakes matched by great coffee cannot wait to return.
