Taqueria El Charrito

First impression going in was not good. The staff seemed bothered we were there at 6:30, well before they close at 11 and we were the only customers there the qhole meal. They were not friendly nor welcoming, including the owner. The put our order up on top of the glass participan and never bothered to let us know it was ready and gweting cold. The special for the weekend was pozole, however the hominy didn't taste fresh and the broth was without authentic pozole flavor..basically water with a hint of red. They were not interested in any special requests..told us the meats were pre-cooked so that is how they serve them. Food flavors were well below authentic Mexican. A big a disappointment!

DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE, WORST TACOS EVER! If i could give this place 0 stars i would. I was in town visiting family and read the reviews for this place so I thought I would give it a try. First impression, the place smelled like smoke no ventilation and was very dirty. They had what looked like a week's worth of empty cans and bottles in the dining room and bathroom. The place looks like it needs a good deep cleaning. The men behind the counter were miserable looking, a smile or a friendly greeting would have been appropriate. We ordered the tacos carne asada and al pastor, the meat lacked seasoning and looked like it was boiled and reheated on the grill. They serve a tiny wedge of lime for 4 tacos, we asked for more and were told they only provide 1 for 4 tacos. You may want to consider bringing your own limes and seasoning while you are at it, taco bell tasted better. They seem to cater to folks who find black pepper too spicy because the food quality could not be classified mexican. I regret tipping them because they didn't even bring the food to the table. consider renaming this place to taqueria basura.

The staff is lovely, I actually dream about the barbacoa tacos. Parking: Park in the alley there are 6 spots

Not a fancy place, but really good down to earth Mexican food. Love this place.
