My partner and I went for an anniversary meal, two days before the birth of our baby so it was a pretty special meal for us. We were gifted a voucher at Christmas and we made staff aware we were using this at the time of booking. The staff from greeting us were great, so friendly and complimentary. The waiting on staff I could not fault. Their recommendations and knowledge was fantastic. My partner and I chose the Porterhouse T-Bone steak and the garlic butter sauce along with the Garlic King Prawns. It was hands down the best meal we've had. My partner and I like eating in nice restaurants and it was a fantastic meal 10/10 would wholeheartedly recommend. As mentioned we were using a gift voucher purchased as a gift, however we have both said that we would return again and happily pay full price for the meal. I loved it. I had always wanted to visit MPW Steakhouse since it opened and it absolutely matched up to my expectations, it was a great experience for an extra special occasion. Parking: It's located across the road and it's less than a 5 minute walk to the restaurant. It is also a small car park though so if it was a weekend you may struggle. Wheelchair accessibility: It's a flat pavement to the restaurant and then there are no steps into the restaurant initially, but there are 5/6 down to the seating area but there is an accessible option.

The nicest steak I’ve tasted. Cooked perfectly and sides really tasty. Peter our waiter was brilliant- very knowledgeable and made us feel really welcome. Will be back! Wheelchair accessibility: Lift or 4 steps.

Poor service. Lazy looking staff with a bad attitude and calamari made from industrial rubber. Very ignorant lady serving us. She asked if everything was ok. We mentioned the Calamari and she offered a free dessert but then changed her mind and snapped the menus out of our hands. We are still in shock, not knowing what exactly happened! Very strange behaviour.

Visited here with my wife and son today (Easter Sunday) and the service was amazing. We were seated very quickly and the staff were on the ball at making us feel welcome and comfortable, as well as providing speedy service. For the first time in my dining experience, the waiter asked my wife and I if there was anything extra they could do for our 15-month old son and we were caught off guard by this as it was a first and surprisingly thoughtful. The food was nice - not amazing - but any faults in this department was made up for by the staff in their generosity and great service.

Unfortunately not the best experience we've had at at higher end restaurant. I ordered Tempura Prawns, they came with half the shell still on and not deveined, the whole prawn including the tail had been cooked in the batter, I thought the tail should be showing? We had a Sirloin Steak which had a marbling of fat running through it, my niece couldn't chew one bite that she didn't give up on. The waiter kept forgetting our drinks, I had to remind him on all our orders. The cleaning cloths/products were left on the table next to us & they starting setting out the breakfast tables as we were starting our dessert. Food not upto par, poor service therefor no tip and a bad review. Could do better Marco especially when we're paying £60 a head.

Had afternoon tea here with my daughter and her partner who were over from New Zealand. I was very disappointed with rhe sandwiches. The ham and mustard had far too much mustard on an made them soggy and we couldn't eat them. This also applied to the beef and Horseradish which also took your breath away. The cakes, however were lovely.

Disappointed with the afternoon tea. Came to Liverpool specifically for this afternoon tea which was bought as a gift. When booking I requested early but was advised on the phone the best time to come to avoid a wait for food was 3:15 so that’s what we booked. Arrived at 3:10 was seated straight away and asked if we would like our Prosecco which we accepted. When the drinks arrived a few minutes later we were asked for any alterations to the menu. We asked for no horseradish and no cucumber in the sandwiches. We then waited 30 minutes for the food to arrive which was a little excessive. When it did come we were disappointed, no macaroons, they had run out, no cream cheese sandwiches, a mix up on their part they thought we’d asked for no cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches instead of just no cucumber in the sandwiches. The tea itself was served on a wooden breadboard instead of a cake stand which swamped the small table leaving not much room for plates or drinks. Then we inquired about the missing items and 10 minutes later we were brought brownies to replace the macaroons(not a favourite, I would have preferred the macaroons) and cream cheese sandwiches. However there was no room on the table to put this plate down so I had to lift them off and place them on the breadboard myself while the waiter held it. After all this and 45 minutes after we arrived we were asked if we would like tea or coffee, it arrived when the majority of the meal was finished. The food itself was ok but nothing startling, I don’t eat meat but my husband said the ham and mustard sandwiches had that much mustard you couldn’t taste anything else. The scones were nice but tiny. I was really looking forward to this treat, I do like an afternoon tea but this was probably the worst I’ve had and one of the most expensive. I guess you pay for the name but certainly don’t pay for quality or service.

So this afternoon tea was booked via Red letter days so thankfully I did not pay full price as i don't even think it was even worth the price we did pay for it. Booked for 3:15 we were told there wouldn't be much of a wait for the food, which wasn't a priority as we had 2hrs take time, but were still waiting for over 30mins. We had a small table for two which shouldn't have been a problem, but they had run out of the sandwich stands (apparently they only had 4!!) so all our food was delivered on a wooden board and plates all at once which gave virtually no room on the table for us to comfortably eat. As for the food, we asked for no cucumber so they completely omitted the cream cheese sandwiches we should have had without it. The ham and mustard had so much mustard (see photo) you couldn't even taste the ham. They had run out of macaroons, not sure how you can run out when you know what bookings you have, but these were replaced with brownies, but not until we asked why we had none! The scones were nice but very small. It wasn't the amount of food (although the ratio of sweet to savoury in my opinion was far too high) but I have had far better afternoon teas elsewhere for less. Definitely felt like we were just paying for the name, and I think Marco Pierre should be appalled with this level of service.
