Amazing food and drinks in a very pleasant place
We just enjoyed a memorable meal at La Lucha. By now, you have read all about the top-notch food and drinks, and that's all true - delicious, creative, amazing. So I want to focus on the service. Our server, Keri, was pitch-perfect. - Warm and hospitable. - Complete knowledge of the menu. - There like a djinni when we needed something, otherwise subtle and unobtrusive. - You could see she truly enjoyed taking care of her guests, and she made it look easy. What a delight, a total pro, and a pleasure to be with! Thanks, Keri!
It has been a while since I’ve been somewhere and every dish hit it out of the ballpark. We started with a dozen oysters of the server’s recommendation (3 types, all from AL), and they were perfection. We ordered the red fish on the half shell, the collard greens, and the scallops and literally could not tell you one bad thing about any of the dishes, and I am typically be pretty critical when we do venture out of the suburbs as we only get a kids-free date night once a blue moon. Next time we come we will absolutely be trying the chicken. Our server was also extremely helpful and attentive. Highly recommend
Went for Saturday brunch to try their famous chicken and waffles. Did have to wait a few mins to be seated, but once attended everything went great. We started with the happy hour Grand Batture oysters- easy on the palate. Highly recommend the TELENOVELA COCKTAIL! It tastes like you’re on vacation- very tropical! The fried chicken and waffles were VERY delicious- request that syrup on top bc it’s the perfect balance of sweet and savory! We had the dumplings, too. No complaints. Omar was our server & we received amazing service, very friendly, and great recommendations from him! Valet was very straightforward. Will definitely come back again!
Omar did a great job serving us and recommending drinks and food. The deviled eggs are delish and definitely a great starter. The roasted oysters with garlic and parmesan were good...gently cooked vs traditional Louisiana approach over fire. The redfish on the half shell was cooked beautifully but really did need more acidity so ask for another lemon as the roasted one will leave your hands looking like a log. The snapper collars are beautiful but a ton or work to eat...heads up.
The collar bones were so delicious. Great drinks. Love the fried chicken. Home feel.
Loved the ambience of the restaurant. It felt like an old time bar with a diverse menu. The service was absolutely amazing. Our sever was super sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. We had some food come out cold and they immediately rectified the situation. Loved the oysters and the chowder fries. Ordered the dumplings as well but they lacked robust flavor. I would definitely return and recommend.
