Showed up to the david Lucas show March 1st half hour late and the doors were completely closed and no one was outside to scan our tickets or let us in at all. I know we were late but seriously no staff is outside waiting to see if people are late to come in?? Half hour late isn’t even that bad and the show probably started at 730 considering when doors open the show doesn’t immediately start at 7. Next time have a staff member outside or on the inside of the door to see if anyone late shows up. We banged on the door for 10 minutes straight. If you say doors open at 7 you should also say when they close. Paid 40$ for nothing.
This venue is completely inaccessible - stairs going down in the front and even more stairs exiting. I used my rollator - but are folks with wheelchairs not able to come in at all and have their night ruined (as there is no notice about this)? I don’t understand how in 2024 there is no alternative option such as a ramp or stair lift available. I appreciate the staff who were trying to be accommodating (e.g. carrying my walker and my drink), but it’s embarssing to have all eyes on you as you struggle up steep and dark stairs. I also agree with other criticisms, which that the ceiling is quite low and your visibility of the stage is compromised. There also isn’t a designated Ada area, which meant I had to sit in row seating and consistently move when somebody needed to pass me (it was extremely packed). This venue is one of the older and adfordable establishments in the city and it’s disappointing that proper renovations have not been made to ensure that everybody can have a safe and accessible time. Until this is addressed, I and many others will just have to know that we cannot physically visit this venue without risking injury.
Quite shocked after the last visit for a show. 13$ for a can of beer (Corona) plus taxes plus tip. It would be nice if they used some of that money to have the washrooms cleaned.
