All India Restaurant and Sweets

We did catering from this restaurant and I can safely say that most of the items did not inspire any 'awe' in flavors. Everybody was mostly disappointed with the food. What a waste of money and expectations.

Somasas were very good. Pakores were dry. The sweets were very good. A good assortment. It seemed a bit pricey for what we got.

The food is good but I think a few of their dishes are heavy in either pepper or cardamom. I'm pretty sure it's cardamom. I had the malai kofta and the cardamom was a bit over powering to me and it's not a flavour I enjoy. I grew up eating a lot of cardamom in my food and I don't mind subtle amounts that are easy to remove, but when it's crushed up in the entree it's a bit difficult to remove. Tastes are subjective, so I'll just need to remember for next time.

As newcomers to this establishment, we decided to venture beyond our usual choices, and the food, especially the naan bread, surpassed our expectations. However, our enjoyment took a downturn as my family grappled with the aftermath of what seemed to be food poisoning. My son bore the brunt, spending a restless night battling stomach issues, while my wife and I faced our own gastrointestinal challenges. Despite this setback, it's crucial to acknowledge that instances of food poisoning can occur unexpectedly and are not always within the restaurant's immediate control. In offering constructive feedback, we recommend that the staff focus diligently on kitchen cleanliness. Implementing practices such as using separate utensils for raw and cooked meat and maintaining a vigilant approach to the cook area could significantly enhance the overall safety of the dining experience. Despite this setback, our passion for Indian cuisine remains unwavering. However, for a brief period, we may choose to steer clear of this particular establishment, trusting that the staff will heed our advice and take proactive measures to safeguard the well-being of their patrons. This incident serves as a cautionary tale, emphasizing the importance of stringent hygiene practices in the culinary realm.
