Amazing omakase experience. The sushi was extremely good and the explanations of the fish and where it was sourced from made it a nice time.

Hands down the best dinner experience I had on my trip to Portland - and I went to Han Oak be Laangbaan so really the bar was high! Intimate but approachable setting, great service, and quality fish. Our chef was thoughtful and informative without being too overbearing, and we were able to have a nice family meal while learning about the ingredients and engaging with the experience. Would recommend and will be back! Not cheap but worth the price point.

Been coming to nimblefish for years and had to update my review. The omakase service is delicious, and their new sushi counter "nimble chan" inside the same space is equally life changing. No matter what you can't go wrong here. Best sushi I've ever had!

(Longer English review after Japanese) ポートランドにある江戸前風寿司屋です。125ドルのプレミアムおまかせコースメニューを予約して、おつまみ3品にぎり12貫をいただきました。日本に慣れた江戸前寿司屋とは少し違いますが、板前さんたちの腕もまだなかなかいいんです。 Enjoyed it overall, very happy to see a semi-legit edomae-ish place in Portland using techniques like kobujime, warayaki, etc. Intimate counter-only seating was very nice as well. A couple pieces felt somewhat off balance. In particular I felt like at times the shari was packed slightly too tightly or too "sticky" (not sure right English word, real word I'm looking for is 粘り nebari) which felt slightly distracting from the neta. Would have preferred either more loosely packed shari or less shari possibly in general. Saba was smoked instead of pickled (shimesaba) which I thought was a great and very creative idea, but still craved some sweetness in the flavor profile. Would have liked to see more hikarimono and shellfish on the menu, although I'm sure that would push the price point a little bit too far so the current menu progression is understandable. Iwashi and konoshiro were very nice. Compared to most sushiya I'm familiar with, the interior felt little bit more dimly lit and airier. Probably a Portland twist on the sushiya vibe, but couldn't help but notice it. ‍♂️ ごちそうさまでした！

One of the very best sushi experiences we have ever had. I was in town from San Diego, Ca. My partner brought me here for my birthday dinner as a surprise. They have top quality fish, highly professional presentation, friendly staff. I will be back for more.
