Cafe Du Berry

Very dirty, like the walls, the floor, the tables, the ceiling. Got the French toast and it was very undercooked egg in the middle, immediately felt sick after eating. Wouldn’t recommend for a date or nice brunch.

I ordered eggs Benedict with ham ($17) and my husband ordered his with salmon ($20) Both were okay. Hash browns were absolutely tasteless. Coffee was really good but was $5 per cup! The atmosphere is very poor but the ladies who work there are nice. Won't be back though. $47 plus tip is too much for a mediocre breakfast in a shabby atmosphere. Sorry.

Very hit or miss. I've had exceptionally good dishes (mushroom dishes are usually good), and really disappointing ones. Hash browns are sad and unseasoned.

Exceptionally overpriced food and terrible service. Their online menu is not accurate, prices are 20-25% more in person. $17 for eggs benny? The cafe 2 blocks northwest of them sells their eggs benny for $13 and it's much higher quality. Incredibly slow service, went in for what I thought would be a quick brunch. I was there for over an hour. Every step of the service cycle was slow: slow to get seated though there was empty seating everywhere, slow to get the drink order, even slower to take our food order. I must have been there for 45 minutes before I got my food. Took about 20 minutes to get the check after we were done eating. Had the place been completely packed, I'd be more forgiving. The place looked to be maybe 60-70% full, busy, but not slammed. The food is decent, but not worth the price or the service. I would not recommend nor will I be returning.

This place used to be great. Today the hash browns had a bad aftertaste, no one checked with us to see how our meal was. The French toast was burned. :( Will not be back!!

The Best French Toast Ever!!!! Scallops and Salmon!! Pepper Steak & Eggs with the hash browns!!!! Everytime I’m in the Portland (Oregon) area I have to go to Cafe Du Berry!! They truly make you feel like Family! Heavenly kisses to Lydia! Chef Mike Andersen and Chef Marlon Ozo I’m sure she is proud of you both!!

Cute cafe. Had always wanted to try it because of its charming exterior. Had high hopes. Very basic and overpriced breakfast. Guess that’s typical. The “fruit side” is an orange slice…don’t order hash browns. I don’t know what was on my plate, but it wasn’t that. A glob of thick, mushy potato like they’ve never even read a recipe for it. Why is this even an option if they can’t make it? I should have taken a photo but I was so underwhelmed by the meal I didn’t. Was a birthday brunch with my birthday twin and Mother’s was closed. A diner with decent pancakes would have been a better choice. Parking: We parked in the spots for a neighboring business that was closed. It wasn’t clear whether we were allowed to park there…I have no clue how you’re supposed to get here unless someone drops you off or you walk or take transit. I don’t like the anxiety of not knowing whether I’m at risk of a parking ticket.

Everything about this restaurant makes it a favorite! The owner and the staff are very nice. Such a wonderful place!
